Connecting People for Clean, Safe and Healthy Environments

Sanitation Networks, Ghana (SaNeG) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) dedicated to enhancing efforts in promoting clean, hygienic, and safe communities, as well as protecting natural resources and the broader environment, through advocacy, mobilization, community engagements and experts’ analysis.

The NGO is also expected to serve as the primary agency for recognizing individuals, groups, organizations, and stakeholders who promote cleanliness, protect community and environmental safety through its various award schemes.

SaNeG was founded by a group of journalists in June 2016 and officially registered in January 2025. The organization aims to leverage on communication, media platforms, and networking to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 6, which focuses on ensuring clean water and sanitation by 2030 and SDG Goal 13 (Climate Action) which focuses on fighting or combating climate change and its impact.

Afia Agyapomaa Ofosu

Founding President

A respected leader and visionary, Afia founded SaNeG with a mission to reshape sanitation advocacy using communication and strategic mobilization. She leads with conviction, purpose, and community at heart.

Kwame Anum

Head, Communications and Media Department

Kwame crafts and directs SaNeG’s media strategy, leveraging storytelling and traditional media to amplify our impact and inspire nationwide change.

Dr. Millicent Obeng Addai

Head, Research and Advocacy

Dr. Millicent leads scientific inquiry and policy engagement, ensuring our programs are data-driven, evidence-based, and aligned with SDG goals.

Edna Sagoe

Head, Business Funding and Donations

Edna drives partnership-building, sponsorships, and fundraising efforts to sustain and expand our community interventions.

Akua Akyaa Oyiakwan

Head of Events and Promotions

Akua creates, plans, and oversees all high-impact SaNeG events — from awareness walks to national award galas — ensuring visibility and public involvement.

Simon Adobor Edem

Head of Digital Media

With a strong background in media technology and online engagement, he leads the development of digital campaigns, multimedia storytelling, and visual content strategy.

Kwabena Nsiah

Operations and Mobilization Officer

Kwabena manages field logistics and community activation efforts. He is the go-to lead for on-ground clean-ups and youth mobilization programs.

Rasheda Kassum

Communications Department

Rasheda supports media production, content development, and campaign planning, playing a crucial role in SaNeG’s public engagement and advocacy.
